The proposal involves the development of a new York Region District School Board (YRDSB) elementary school designed to serve students from kindergarten through Grade 8, along with associated daycare facilities. The initial phase includes 26 classrooms, accommodating 638 students, with 44 teachers and staff, plus 48 childcare spaces. Future expansion may add four classrooms and six portable units, increasing capacity by 230 students and 10 teachers. The site plan features three access points along Murrell Boulevard. The northern entrance at Briarfield Avenue will serve as the primary vehicular access to a parking area with 85 spaces, including electric vehicle charging stations, car-share spots, accessible parking, and designated parent pick-up/drop-off zones. The southern entrances form a one-way counter-clockwise loop accommodating eight bus lay-bys and serving as an emergency fire route. Additionally, a full-movement entrance via Charles White Crescent grants access to 12 parking spaces dedicated to the childcare facility, including one accessible space. This comprehensive layout prioritizes safety, accessibility, and efficient transportation for the entire school community.
